Ted Evans, the winner of the 2012 Ben Steiner Bursary, has been busy working on his Ben Steiner Bursary film project.
The film is in pre-production, with the script being finalised and the casting process about to begin. The shooting is scheduled to take place in the New Year. The film will be completed in time for its premiere screening at Deaffest 2013 on Friday 17 May.
Even at this early stage the film is promising to be a very exciting project! Ted offered us a sneak preview with this synopsis of the film:
In a crippling world that has pushed them to the fringes of society, two women find themselves at a crossroads between an unforgiving world and a dark community that appears to offer them hope. Set in an alternative present, a vast recession has seen the structures of society dwindle. Priorities have changed and a hierarchy has segregated the population. Initially established to lay roots and to start over again, this new community rapidly sees obsession overtake reason.
