BDAYouth International Sign Workshop
Are you curious about deafies from all over the world? Want to gain the skills to be able to communicate with them? Then our International Sign workshop is for you!
Whether you are a complete beginner or have some International Sign experience, we aim to teach something new to you! After the success of the International Sign workshop in Sign Circle 2014, we will be teaching any attendees, whether deaf or hearing, big or small, old or young, how to use amazingly visual communication methods that will make you understood anywhere in the world!

Visual Vernacular workshop led by Giuseppe Giuranna
VV or Visual Vernacular is an art form significant in the Deaf and signing world. It is a form of physical theatre performed by Deaf artists in an entirely visual manner, without any form of BSL using the entire body, iconic gestures and facial expression to tell a rhythmic story.
We are delighted to have VV expert Giuseppe Giuranna from Italy leading the workshop giving everyone a unique opportunity to learn this fascinating art form from a world expert.

Sign Song workshop led by Jayne Fletcher
Jayne AKA Fletch@ is a sign song performer.
As a deaf person myself I love music, music is my passion. Throughout my Sign Song workshop you will learn how deaf people can appreciate music too. You will discover how the lyrics are interpreted into a visual language using sign and facial expressions and music comes to life through your hands.
This fun workshop is suitable for signers and non-signers alike!

Editing workshop in BSL led by Deaf filmmaker Bim Ajadi
Bim has worked passionately in the media for several years. His work includes co-directing a film for the opening of the London Paralympic Ceremony for Channel 4 and directing an inspirational short film Champion of the World. Bim was also a previously a Ben Steiner Bursary winner for his film Dead Money.
A workshop for filmmakers of any learning level. For those who want to learn about software in FCPX, or those who want to understand film-making editing techniques. Participants can either work in pairs or alone.
Suitable for aged 16 and over (Deaf participants will be given priority)
