Deaffest

Teresa Garratty is a multi award winning filmmaker whose work has screened at festivals all over the globe. Her recent work focuses on deaf LGBT+ themes with an aim to create more representation for deaf LGBT+ people in front of and behind the camera.

Aimee Campbell-Nottage is based in London and has worked as a television presenter for over 20 years. In recent years, she has branched out as an Assistant Producer, Director and BSL Consultant, enjoying different roles behind the camera. She is also the co-director of Deaf Talent Collective as she shares their vision and passion to develop and celebrate deaf talent, both on and off screen. 

Camilla Arnold is the series producer for BBC’s See Hear, a monthly magazine programme for the deaf and hard of hearing community, making her the first deaf female series producer for BBC Studios. She is also the Creative Director for Flashing Lights Media. Camilla has several documentaries and series to her name for both the BBC and Channel 4. She produced an experimental documentary for the BBC, Life and Deaf, which received rave reviews, given a ‘Creative Diversity Network’ award, and was nominated for an RTS. Camilla has also produced ‘School of Life and Deaf’ for Channel 4 which was shortlisted for both a Grierson and Broadcast Award. Camilla has directed CBeebies’ flagship series, Magic Hands since 2012. 

Raabia Hussain is a filmmaker and documentary producer from the UK. As a Deaf creative, she makes films that highlight issues such as mental health, disability, and inclusivity, as well as emphasizing the importance of activism and de-stigmatizing in general.

Born and bred in the Oldham area of Manchester, UK, Raabia Hussain is an award-winning adventure filmmaker. The 28-year-old director completed her degree at the Northern Film School in Leeds, UK. One of her greatest and most successful documentaries is Two Deaf Travellers, which has been ranked as the Best Independent Travel Video 2021 on CIFFT.

Becky Mingins is profoundly Deaf and a cochlear implant user. She is a social media influencer, producing content on Deafness, Deaf culture, and the inclusion of Deaf people in the mainstream hearing world. She brings observational humour to her content highlighting the barriers faced by Deaf people in society. She has a following of more than 767K people across TikTok and Instagram and regularly works with brands which are keen to promote their inclusive credentials and target the Deaf community. 

Danny Murphy is a Deaf actor, film maker and presenter. He is most well-known for the weekly videos he posts on social media which include parodies, jokes, vlogs and news.

Jazzy Whipps is a British deaf YouTuber, whose channel has almost 200k subscribers. She makes videos on various topics ranging from discussions on deaf issues, doing family challenges, and travel vlogging. The overall aim of her channel is to share all the positives about life in the deaf community and enable hearing people to find out more about deaf awareness and sign language. She often works with various types of brands and tv shows to raise deaf awareness.
