The London Film School is delighted to announce that Creative Skillset bursaries will be available for the 2-year MA Filmmaking programme in January and April 2014.
Creative Skillset Film Academy status enables LFS to offer bursaries for UK qualifying students, who would not have been able to do the course for reasons of finance. It addresses the LFS’s key goal of ensuring good access for the current generation of talented graduate students, so that they can participate and benefit from the school’s special culture and its very full learning programme, as Mike Leigh, Horace Ove, Roger Pratt, Bill Douglas, Iain Smith, Duncan Jones and many other UK filmmakers did before them.
Creative Skillset bursaries are for ‘home’ students only. Full criteria here. Students must demonstrate a commitment to working in, and contributing to, the UK film industry after completing their studies. LFS aims to encourage greater diversity in the screen industries, and welcomes applications from under-represented groups.
The Bursary Fund is supported by Creative Skillset (the Sector Skills Council for the Audio-Visual Industry) and by the London Film School itself. Bursaries cover course fees except for £5,500 per year, representing over 75% reduction in fees.
In order to be considered for a January bursary, we will need to receive your course application by 21 October. The deadline for April entry is 10 February.
