A panel of media professionals including actor Matthew Gurney will be discussing various topics linked to Deaf films such as why some Deaf films lack regional sign language, censorship and more. Why not come along and join in the debate?
The debate will be led by Producer/Director Louis Neethling.

Dr. Paddy Ladd will be leading a seminar focused on Deafhood.
Paddy is a Deaf scholar, author, activist and researcher of Deaf culture. The word Deafhood was first developed by Paddy in 1993. Deafhood acknowledges that ALL Deaf people embark on a journey towards deepening and refining their Deaf selves. Many are content to reside within the “boundaries” of existing Deaf cultures, yet some press on to stretch those boundaries.
