Then learn from the experts in this deaf-led, informative workshop. The workshop will focus on different methods of producing a script – the written word and sign language, led by two well-known deaf scriptwriters / filmmakers Charlie Swinbourne and Brian Duffy. Charlie, who is also a journalist, won an RTS award for writing the sketch show Deaf Funny, which he also directed, and has written a range of Deaf comedies and dramas. Brian wrote and acted in his own comedy sitcom Small World which was aired on TV via BSL Zone. He uniquely produced his script for Small World using sign language which contributed to the success of the series.

Danny’s Skits is coming to Deaffest 2019!

Danny Murphy is an actor in his debut Hollywood feature film, CITV Presenter, Comedian and had a part in ‘Up for It’ BSLBT (Danny’s Skits) and as a Diana Award Holder is an anti-bullying ambassador.

He went to the USA last month for his Skits Tour to visit Deaf schools and theatres for his show, presentations and workshops. Recently for his first show he attended the Deaf Ball in London, which was successful. Two years ago he went to the EUDY camp for his film workshop, his Skits and his background.

He will be on stage on Friday 17th May doing his first ever collaboration with comedian John Smith.

Then on Saturday, Danny will host the Young Deaffest events, including award presentations and as MC of Young Deaffest Danny will tell his own story, talking about his videos and giving young people an opportunity to learn from him and be inspired.
