This weekend, the Itinerant Deaf Cinema Festival takes place in Venice from 22–24 May, bringing together three days of Deaf cinema, screenings, discussions, workshops and live performances celebrating Deaf storytelling and artistic exchange.

Representing Deaffest at the festival are Co-Founder and Festival Director Nikki Stratton and Festival Producer Lou Parrott, who are looking forward to connecting with fellow filmmakers, audiences and creatives across the international Deaf film community. The full festival programme can be viewed here: Itinerant Deaf Cinema Festival Programme

As part of the festival programme, Nikki Stratton will join fellow festival representatives to present and discuss the work of Deaffest, while also joining the International Competition Jury.

Meanwhile, Marilyn Willrich will participate in the Roundtable: International Deaf Cinema Manifesto – an online gathering of international professionals exploring the future, visibility and development of Deaf cinema worldwide.

From one festival weekend to another, this continuing exchange of ideas, experiences and creativity highlights the strength of Deaf culture, international collaboration and the growing global landscape of filmmaking and creativity.
