Deaffest is delighted to announce that Rachel Shenton, has agreed to become the Patron of Deaffest, the UK’s leading Deaf-led Film and Arts Festival.
Rachel is a British actress and writer. Rachel is well-known for her character ‘Mitzeee’ in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks and she is also starring in hit US TV show Switched at Birth playing ‘Lily’. Aside from acting, Rachel is fluent in BSL and is a committed advocate for raising deaf awareness.
Rachel attended Deaffest in 2013 as a special guest and presented an award to the winner of Young Deaffest. We are looking forward to welcoming her back next year as our Patron!
