Name: Abdulrahman Mustafa
Role at Deaffest: Camera-operator
What are you up to? I am in my second year at the University of Wolverhampton, studying Video and Film Production.
What do you love about media? I am passionate in collecting and exploring various films and music videos. I love having a deep discussion about films. I have a keen interest in anthology (poetry, short stories, plays) and mixing them in a short film. I like being experimental in my films using effects.
What is your future ambition? In the future I would like to become a director in films and theatre. I would also like to teach young deaf people abroad about making films.

Name: Laura McSkane
Roles at Deaffest: Camera-operator and runner
What are you up to? I’m on the committee for Shamrock Deaf Films.
What do you love about media? I’m fascinated by what goes on behind the scenes during the filming!
What is your future ambition? To get an internship or hands on experience with a film/television production. I hope to become a director of photography one day.

Name: Michael Ward
Role at Deaffest: Variety of roles
What are you up to? I’m a freelance animator/storyboarder.
What do you love about media? I’ve always had a passion for creative arts, film and animation. I grew up in a creative family.
What is your future ambition? To be working in Hybrid Animation or become a VFX Director.

Name: Muna Abdillahi
Role at Deaffest: Photographer
What are you up to? Studying Photography at University, I am in my second year.
What is your future ambition? In the future I want to be a documentary photographer, working for a newspaper and recording what’s happening out there.

Name: Rosie Benn
Role at Deaffest: Editor
What are you currently studying? I am studying Video and Film Production at the University of Wolverhampton. I’m finishing up my first year out of three.
What do you love about media? I love the rush I get when I’m doing a challenging task. I enjoy planning the pre-production, production and post-production including researching, filming and editing.
What is your future ambition? To be an editor or director.

Name: Timothy Perera
Role at Deaffest: Camera-operator
What are you up to? I’m in my second year of Film and Video Production at University of Wolverhampton.
What is your future ambition? I would love to work with various film/TV production companies, gain experiences and work on different projects. I would love to be a director/camera-operator as it is my passion to make films. I aspire to make my own film one day.

What are you up to? I am currently working on a pitch and hope to make a new film.
What do you love about media? I love sharing my stories and experiences in my work and showing them to the viewers.
What is your future ambition? I hope to become an award-winning director one day and show the world that Deaf people can be successful!

Name: Zoe Romer
Role at Deaffest: Variety of roles
What are you up to? Working Freelance in television production in various roles including, directing, vision mixing, archive producer, graphics operator, sound desk operator, evs operator.
What do you love about media? The people!
What is your future ambition? To continue working in television production and to improve my signing skills!
