Ashley Kendall is my name, I was born to a deaf family in Chester and have moved several times including stints in Yorkshire, Derbyshire and I now live in London. I work for Remark Media as an Assistant Producer, working on documentaries and historical programmes. I am probably best known for being a Presenter on Remark’s ground breaking TV series, Magic Hands and was recently selected for BAFTA’s Breakthrough Brits scheme, which was a great honour and an excellent opportunity to show what deaf people are made of!

In my spare time I am on the Board of Trustees for the British Deaf Association (BDA) as well the Chair for Youth Section (BDAYouth). Naturally, I enjoy deaf politics and being involved in the deaf community. I would like to credit my wonderful girlfriend Hannah and my family for their constant support and belief in me. I am honoured to be asked to be the MC of Young Deaffest 2015, a perfect fitting as Media is my great passion.
