Deaffest on Tour will be partnering with Film Africa, the Royal African Society’s biennial festival and London’s biggest celebration of African and African diaspora cinema.
Deaffest and Film Africa have previously worked together to host a fantastic online event for Here/Not Here by Bim Ajadi and we are delighted to be working with them once again.
At Film Africa’s 10th festival edition, which will happen across London venues and online, Deaffest on Tour will showcase a programme of Deaf films on Thursday 3rd of November 2022 along with a panel discussion and a workshop.
If you’re interested in joining us, be sure to put the date in your diary as further details will be on our website and social media accounts soon!

Many thanks to those who attended the fundraising Quiz Night which took place recently in St Austell! (Sorry to those who missed out due to the train strikes.)
The money raised from this event will go towards Cornwall Mini Deaffest.
Big thanks to Deaffest Co-Founder Marilyn Willrich and volunteers Jackie Bryant and Manda Lambert for leading the Quiz Night!
Zebra Access launched its first-ever mini Deaffest in Cornwall back in 2018. The pop-up festival took place in St Austell, and gave the local Cornish Deaf Community an opportunity to learn about the festival. Cornwall Mini Deaffest returned for its 2nd festival in 2021 as part of Deaffest on Tour.

We hope to see the return of the biennial Cornwall Mini Deaffest next year, with film screenings, workshops, stalls fair, entertainment and more! Keep an eye out for more information on our website.

After the success of the first tour which took place in 2021, we look forward to the return of Deaffest on Tour this year!
We announced the first tour back in 2020, which took place in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic changing our initial plans. The team travelled to Cornwall, Warwick, and Gloucester, showcasing films, hosting workshops, and providing a platform for a variety of performances.

Whilst the biennial festival is returning to Wolverhampton in 2024, Deaffest, hosted by Zebra Access, will tour to different places around the UK to give local audiences an insight into Deaffest’s range of Deaf Films and Art.
Keep an eye on our website and social media for more information about our upcoming tours!
