Deaffest on Tour 2023 | Interview clip | Gilles Cervantes

Introducing Gilles Cervantes, the director of: Le Chemin. From France, Gilles shares about why he created his film and how it came about. Watch the interview here!

Le Chemin | Dir. Gilles Cervantes | France | 2023

In the 1950s, a deaf young man sleeps rough. He lives with his 2 dogs with whom he communicates in sign language. A young seamstress, also deaf, accompanied by her boss, will cross paths with this young man. The seamstress is touched by the goodness of this tramp and ends up becoming his friend, which is not at all to the taste of the boss. Judged and belittled by him, the seamstress resigns from her job and decides to start a new life with the tramp. She begins by sewing him new clean clothes and then she welcomes him to her home.

The Deaffest on Tour film screenings will next take place at Cornwall Mini Deaffest! Book your ticket for the festival on Saturday 23rd September 2023.
