Deaffest will return from the 10th to the 12th of May 2024 to celebrate the 15th edition of the festival.  The events will be taking place at three different venues, including: 

Arena Theatre, Wulfruna Street, Wolverhampton WV1 1SE

University of Wolverhampton, Wulfruna Street, Wolverhampton WV1 1LY

The Halls Wolverhampton, North Street, Wolverhampton WV1 1RD

All venues have wheelchair access. Please contact the above venues for further accessibility details.

British Sign Language and International Sign interpreters will be provided at the festival.

All three venues listed above are within a 15 minute walking distance from Wolverhampton’s rail, bus, and metro stations.

Deaf Visual Artists: an opportunity to showcase your work at Deaffest 2024 on Saturday the 11th of May! 

Deaffest’s Stalls Fair will be returning to Wolverhampton, UK, at a different venue; the Rosalind Franklin (MB) Building at the University of Wolverhampton.

Visual Artists can apply for a stall with a freestanding project board (located behind the stall). This is a fantastic opportunity to display and sell your artistic work!

Meet Artists & Stage Manager for Deaffest 2024: Lynn Stewart-Taylor!

A big welcome to Lynn, the Artists & Stage Manager for Deaffest 2024! The team is very excited to be working with her for the forthcoming festival!

Lynn, a BSL Consultant with 19 years of experience, specialises in promoting inclusive and accessible services within health and social care settings. Recently qualified as a deaf Intralingual Interpreter, Lynn also excels in her parallel career in theatre/TV productions as a BSL Consultant , Co-Director, Specialist Researcher for Deaf Studies Trust, and Site Coordinator for Performance Interpreting Limited . 

Passionate about music and recognising the limited access to gigs, she founded SignGigs — an innovative platform integrating deaf and hearing interpreters. Empowering deaf performers to fulfill their dreams through opportunities. SignGigs ensures a barrier-free experience, allowing both deaf and non-deaf fans to enjoy live music without limitations.
