Call for deaf young artists!

After the success of the Young Deaffest 2016 Poster Competition, where so many fantastic posters were submitted, we now need a new poster for Young Deaffest 2017!

We want UK-based deaf young people aged 11 – 16 years old to get creative and make an eye-catching poster for Young Deaffest 2017.

What is Young Deaffest?

Young Deaffest is an annual event which takes place at Deaffest, the UK’s leading Deaf-led film and arts festival. Young Deaffest offers opportunities to young deaf people, which include participating in workshops, watching films made by young deaf filmmakers, engaging in Deaf film and arts culture and being inspired by successful deaf role models!

Bursting with ideas? We welcome your submission in any media type (hand drawn, painted, photographic and graphic design). Let your imagination run wild and create a poster to help promote Young Deaffest 2017.

The winner will receive an Amazon voucher worth £50 and we will publicise the winning poster on our website/social media sites both before and during the festival, which takes place from 12th – 14th May 2017. We hope you can join us at Young Deaffest on Saturday 13th May where we will reveal and showcase the short-listed entries!

Just a few rules before you start creating your poster:

  • The poster must be A4 size (it can be portrait or landscape).
  • Your poster must include the words ‘Young Deaffest 2017’.
  • We would like to see your imagination at work, so you must create the poster yourself.

All entries must be received by Wednesday 1st February 2017. Entries without parental consent will not be accepted. Download the entry form here.

We will announce the winner before Deaffest 2017 (12th – 14th May 2017).
