Young Deaffest 2009

This year we are inviting young people, schools and community groups  to submit their films to Young Deaffest – the section of the festival which celebrates the talents of young Deaf filmmakers.

The films submitted to Young Deaffest will be shown during the festival on the Fri 27 Nov and there will also be an awards ceremony for the best films in each age groupheld on Sat 28 Nov.

Submission details:

• You can submit a film in 2 age groups: 8-11 year olds and 12-16 year olds

• Films entered to the competition must be returned by Tues 1 Sept 2009.

• Please send your personal/organisation profile details along with your film including age group, address,   email, and details about your film – synopsis, running time, credits.

• There should be a significant Deaf involvement in the production.

• Films must be submitted in one of the following formats: Beta SP, Mini DV, DVCam, DVD Region 1 or 2.

• Please ensure you hold all appropriate rights and clearances for use of music and any other copyright   materials in your film.

• Any category of film is accepted – drama, animation, factual, experimental.
